Pacific Brant all primed up and ready for paint

Here's a Pacific brant goose that I'm working on for the Washington Brant Foundation show coming up in April. At this point I've simply sealed and base-coated the decoy with Ronan's Japan colors. This provides a perfect base for the feather details that I'll paint onto it with artist's oil paints.

Hi Tom,
I notice in one of your websites that you use Ronan Japan Colors to base coat. What is the advantage of using these paints? I've never heard of them.
I paint with oils.
Thanks,
Helen
